Subject: 3DX-Ray has introduced a new smaller ThreatScan AS2 flat panel for their portable x-ray system
The new panel has been specifically designed for operators working in areas where access is very restricted. A smaller footprint with a slightly improved resolution as its big brother, the AS1, using the latest glassless technology inside to reduce size and weight. It boasts an excellent dead zone cut off, down to less than 3mm on two sides. Another advantage of the new panel is that its reduced size and weight make it ideal for backpacking and rapid deployment.
3DX-RAY LTD, CEO, Vincent Deery said: We are in a constant contact with our customers and are always innovating to meet their evolving needs. It was clear to us from that dialogue that operators often find themselves struggling to deploy the larger panels in very restricted spaces. So, we took it upon ourselves to address the issue by designing the ThreatScan AS2 to meet those operational requirements and are very pleased to introduce it to the marketplace.
Used in combination with the 3DX-Ray portable 120kV or 150kV x-ray generator and laptop imaging station, the system is quick and simple to deploy and use, the system produces extremely high quality, sub-millimetre resolution images in real-time for rapid and accurate decision making. The slimline detector panel is positioned behind the target, the generator is placed in front, and the scan is activated from the imaging station. The 25 x 30cm imaging area of the panel enables the operator to scan typical bags and packages in a single scan. A range of sophisticated image processing functions (including materials discrimination, pan, zoom, DeepFocus™, 3D Emboss, measurement and annotation) coupled with high quality images enable the operator to interpret the image quickly and accurately. The software communicates the image on screen and images can be saved in proprietary TSM, JPEG, and various other common file formats. The standard package comprises an amorphous silicon x-ray detector panel, 120kV or 150kV x-ray generator, laptop computer, ThreatSpect software, batteries, chargers, wireless communication, and transport case. Options include tripod, repeater stations, spare batteries and chargers, soft carry cases, wired and fibre optic cable sets.
